Why GILD Exists: Our Mission

6 min read

GILD is a locally owned, woman-owned studio serving NC, SC, and GA. Here's the belief the company is built on: independent beauty businesses deserve enterprise-grade tools without the enterprise price tag or complexity.

The gap we kept seeing

Independent salons, barbershops, medspas, lash and brow studios, nail studios, hair restoration clinics, and IV wellness practices run on skill and reputation. Yet the software built for them has historically forced a bad trade: either a generic booking page that does nothing to sell the service, or an enterprise platform priced for a national chain.

Meanwhile, the actual moment that decides revenue — the client's hesitation between 'I'm interested' and 'I booked' — was left entirely to chance. GILD was founded to close that gap.

What we believe

First: seeing beats describing. A client who can preview the exact cut, color, wig, lash map, or treatment outcome on her own photo doesn't need to be sold — she needs to be shown. Confidence, not pressure, is what converts.

Second: technology should adapt to the studio, not the reverse. GILD layers onto the booking, POS, and CRM tools a business already trusts. There is no rip-and-replace, no forced migration, and no months-long implementation.

Third: ownership matters. GILD is locally owned and operated, and woman-owned. We serve North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, and we build for the independent owners who anchor their neighborhoods — because we are one of them.

How the mission shows up in the product

Every GILD engagement starts with the studio's real service menu, not a template. The virtual try-on renders that studio's actual services, at that studio's actual prices, so the preview a client falls in love with is one the studio can actually deliver.

And because the mission is about outcomes, not software, the engagement doesn't end at launch. GILD's concierge options keep the site, the booking flow, and the knowledge base current — so the tool keeps earning its place month after month.
